Had a family gathering , my sisters 60th. Had s private function room. Which was excellent. Had kids play area which was a great idea. Food was good. It was warm and welcoming. The staff were brilliant. They catered for all our needs. Would defo book and use your facilities again.
This place was an excellent find and in the right location for our journey back down from the West Coast of Scotland and paying a visit to the multiverse. Good value for money, the service was friendly, the food was great and were given some really sweet recommendations that added to our visit. Namely the oldest Post Office, Carrot Top and the Community shop - didn't know about the Sanqaur design but now I do! The town feels a little run down but for our arrival and departure, we drove though the most wonderful Glens. The only minor drawback was the shower in our room which needed some attention. Well worth a detour off the the M74 or dropping in from the Androssan ferry.
Always a pleasure to stay at The Nithsdale. The rooms are modern and cosy and the beds are really comfy. Service is fantastic and nothing seems to be a bother. Ideally located at the top of the town with plenty of parking around the hotel. A great hotel to stay at if you want to explore the region or just as a stop over for an onward journey. Highly recommended.
From Booking in and having evening meal, Staff Friendly and polite. Check-in, very friendly and polite young gentleman checked us in quickly and showed us how to get to our room. Evening Meal, Great choice on menu, and food excellent, again all staff serving us friendly and polite. Room, large room, everything you put needed for our stay, bed very comfortable, and great night sleep. Overall Excellent Hotel, and would recommend if in area.
For years and years I have travelled up and down the A76 between Kilmarnock and Dumfries passing through, and, never stopping at any of the former coal mining villages like Sanquhar. I am now retired and with lots of time and no meetings to get to, I stopped at The Nithsdale Hotel in Sanquhar and what a fabulous place - I was in Room #2 which is quiet and comfortable and dinner in the restaurant is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful - 5-Star all round. David Clark.
Great little village pub in the heart of Sanquhar. Me and my husband were staying locally and popped in here on the Sunday evening - the atmosphere was lively with locals who were very happy to chat to you! My dogs received an even better welcome than I did and are probably devastated that we had to go home would definitely pop in here again if we found ourselves in Sanquhar.
Always friendly and go above and beyond. Beautiful hotel. Fantastic rooms. Bars and function rooms. Amazing menu. 2nd time going and will go again.
We traveled from Staffordshire and stayed at The Nithsdale for two nights whilst visiting family, this is an excellent hotel, very clean and up to date. Rooms, food and drink are spot on. Didn’t want to eat out anywhere else as the food was so nice. Every one was so friendly and accommodating, Jade was a super star and made our stay so lovely, my husband and dad enjoyed trying the different whiskeys too Highly recommended, second time we have stayed here and will stay here for our visit next year too x
